Men Against Sexual Violence (MASV)
Initiated by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, MASV is a forum designed to engage men and boys in actively working together with women to eliminate sexual violence. MASV recognizes that sexual violence is not just a women's issue; men are also affected by sexual violence and have a responsibility to work to end it. More information is available at the PA Coalition Against Rape/MASV web site: www.menagainstsexualviolence.org. For information about Westmoreland County's MASV task force, call Blackburn Center at 724-837-9540, X114.
The HERO Project
The HERO Project, a child sexual abuse prevention initiative, began with a group of Westmoreland County organizations that joined together to encourage the heroes in our community – parents, relatives, caregivers, and acquaintances – to intervene, protect children, and report suspicions of child sexual abuse. The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape has adopted the HERO Project for statewide expansion. For information about the HERO Project, call the HERO Project hotline: 1-877-874.HERO – or visit the website.
